Terms of use
Last updated 8 October 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and Clara when you use the Clara app or this website. Please read them; they are short.
The beta
Clara is in private beta. Places are by invitation, and Clara is free to use during the beta. We will tell you before anything you use becomes paid, and you can always choose to stop.
Your records are yours
You own the records you put into Clara. You can download them at any time. We only use them to run Clara for you, as our privacy policy explains.
Check before you save
Clara is a helper, and it can make mistakes. Every record Clara reads from a message, voice note or photo is shown to you first, and nothing is saved until you say yes. Please check the amounts before you save. Clara works out your figures from the records you saved, so a wrong record gives a wrong figure.
Not professional advice
Clara helps you keep your records and understand your business. It is not an accountant, lawyer or financial adviser, and what it shows is not tax, legal or financial advice.
Using Clara fairly
- Keep your sign-in safe, and only invite staff you trust.
- Only record real business activity, and only add customers’ details for your business with them.
- Do not try to break, overload or misuse Clara, or get into anyone else’s records.
We may pause or close an account that breaks these rules, and we will tell you why.
When things go wrong
We work hard to keep Clara running and your records safe, but during the beta Clara may sometimes be slow, unavailable or change. We are not responsible for losses that come from using Clara, as far as Nigerian law allows.
Changes and contact
If these terms change, we will update this page and the date at the top, and tell you in the app if the change matters to you. These terms follow the laws of Nigeria. Questions: [email protected].
